Jakarta, June 21 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto acknowledged that he draws inspiration from former South African president Nelson Mandela for his views and maneuvers in domestic politics, particularly in matters of reconciliation.

During his speech at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on Friday (June 20), he emphasized that he regards Mandela as one of his greatest role models due to his willingness to make peace with former adversaries.
