Indonesia, June 29 -- A Malaysian tourist was evacuated from Mount Rinjani on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, after falling while hiking on Saturday morning, according to local police.
"The victim slipped and fell while descending toward Lake Segara Anak on Mount Rinjani," said First Inspector Nicolas Oesman, spokesperson for the East Lombok Police, on Saturday.
The tourist, identified as 47-year-old Nazril, sustained minor injuries and was assisted by fellow hikers and a porter to the nearby Sembalun public health center.
"The victim has received medical attention," Oesman confirmed, adding that the victim suffered bruises on his right arm, head scratches, and hip pain as a result of the fall.
