Banyuwangi, E Java, July 11 -- The East Java police's disaster victim identification (DVI) team announced on Thursday that a Malaysian national was among the victims of the Tunu Pramata Jaya ferry accident.

The deceased, identified as Fauzey Bin Awang, 58, was confirmed through the DVI team's medical examination, as well as the victim's wallet and identity card, according to an East Java police officer.

Awang was identified by the police's DVI team on Thursday, along with two other recovered bodies, Head of the East Java Police's Medical and Health Services Adjunct Senior Commissioner, Adam Bimantoro, told journalists.
