Jakarta, Aug. 12 -- During a meeting with South Korean legislator and presidential envoy Cho Jeong-sik, House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Puan Maharani called for the renewal of a bilateral agreement on the placement of Indonesian migrant workers.
The two lawmakers met at the Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to Maharani, the renewal of the memorandum of understanding on the employment permit system between Indonesia and South Korea has been stalled due to the latter's objection to provisions regarding the protection of migrant workers in the fishery sector.
