Jakarta, May 27 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Environment (KLH) has called on regional governments nationwide to develop and implement local action plans to eliminate mercury use in small-scale gold mining activities.

During a technical event monitored online from Jakarta on Tuesday, KLH Director of Hazardous and Poisonous Materials Control, Haruki Agustina, emphasized the importance of Presidential Regulation No. 21 of 2019, which mandates regional contributions to national efforts in reducing and eliminating mercury.
