Jakarta, Feb. 18 -- Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad asked the government to allow aid from the diaspora, Indonesian citizens living in Malaysia, to be distributed to disaster-affected communities in Sumatra.
He considered the aid to be beneficial to the community, especially ahead of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
He also asked the government's Task Force for the Acceleration of Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Sumatra to coordinate with Customs and Excise regarding this matter.
