Jakarta, Sept. 8 -- Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin has called on the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) to utilize its new warship, KRI Brawijaya 320, to protect Indonesia's rich maritime natural resources.
"We are facing challenges in regulating and securing the natural resources owned by our country," he said while addressing the crew of KRI Brawijaya 320, docked at Pier 107 in Tanjung Priok Port here on Monday.
He emphasized that Indonesia's vast marine resources must be optimally utilized for the benefit of the people. With proper management, he believes the fisheries and marine industries can generate benefits and maximally contribute to the country's economic growth.
