Jakarta, Sept. 1 -- The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the distribution of additional Hajj quotas in 2024 to former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas during his initial questioning as a witness in the Hajj quota case.

"Investigators are examining the chronology of the additional quota, which then, through a ministerial decree, led to the distribution of special and regular Hajj quotas," KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo informed on Monday.

The anti-graft agency is also investigating the alleged money flows from the distribution of additional Hajj quotas to Yaqut.

The former Religious Minister was summoned by the KPK for questioning on Monday for nearly seven hours.
