Jakarta, Aug. 1 -- Deputy Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI), Christina Aryani, has highlighted the need for measures to prevent the illegal placements of migrant workers to ensure they do not get exploited and trafficked.
"We found that many human trafficking cases began with the unprocedural (illegal) placement of migrant workers, making prevention very important," the deputy minister told ANTARA here on Thursday.
Her statement, which underlines one of the challenges to controlling human trafficking cases, coincided with the commemoration of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30.
