Jakarta, Aug. 29 -- Indonesia's National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) has launched an investigation into the death of an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver who was struck by a police tactical vehicle during a protest in Jakarta on Thursday night.
Komnas HAM Chairperson Anis Hidayah on Friday condemned the incident, describing it as an act of violence that cannot be tolerated and one that potentially constitutes a serious human rights violation.
"Komnas HAM is paying close attention to this case. We will be on the ground to collect information from various parties," Anis said in a phone interview with ANTARA.
