Jakarta, March 25 -- State-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) recorded 689,274 train passengers in Java and Sumatra departed in the initial four days of the 2025 Eid Transportation homecoming period on March 21-24.

KAI Vice President of Public Relations Anne Purba noted in a statement on Tuesday that until March 25 at 6:00 a.m. local time, the company had sold 2,875,895 tickets, accounting for 63 percent of the total capacity provided.

"Of that number, 2,662,757 tickets were for long-distance train trips, with an occupancy rate of 77 percent, while local train ticket sales were recorded at 213,138 tickets, or 19 percent of the total capacity," she remarked.
