Jepara, Sept. 1 -- The Jepara District Government in Central Java is partnering with a Chinese investor to tackle the region's waste problem by converting it into renewable energy, aiming to curb the rapid growth of waste production.

"The target is for this collaboration to begin in 2026, to reduce the amount of waste at the Final Disposal Site (TPA), which has previously only been a pile of waste," said Jepara District Head Witiarso Utomo after receiving waste management investor Zheneng Jinjiang Environment in his office on Monday.
