Jakarta, Feb. 18 -- Director General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation (KSDAE) of the Forestry Ministry Satyawan Pudyatmoko stated that Javan leopard conservation efforts can proffer benefits to local communities, including opportunities for ecotourism.
When met on the sidelines of a presentation on the development of the Javan Leopard Population Survey of Java-Wide Leopard Survey (JWLS) in Jakarta on Tuesday, he stated that conservation efforts can benefit communities living around conservation areas.
Citing as an example, he drew attention to the involvement of communities around the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park in ecotourism.
