Jakarta, Sept. 21 -- The Jakarta Provincial Government has called for stronger interregional collaboration in literacy, urging regions to move beyond promoting reading habits and focus on creating real impact for local development.

"Jakarta, as the national barometer, shows its inclusivity by sharing experiences and building collective strength with other regions," said Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno on Sunday at the 2025 Literacy and Climate Festival.

Speaking at the festival, held at Martha Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park in Blok M, Rano said the event reflects growing regional concern over literacy quality and climate awareness, while also showcasing Jakarta's commitment to creating accessible public spaces.
