Jakarta, June 2 -- Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has urged organizers of sacrificial animal slaughter during the 2025 Eid al-Adha celebrations to refrain from dumping animal waste into rivers, warning that such actions could harm both the environment and public health.
"The handling of sacrificial animals should not have an impact on the community, especially by disposing of remains into rivers," Pramono said in Jakarta on Monday.
He also instructed all mayors, especially in Central Jakarta, to regulate the locations where sacrificial animals are sold to avoid disrupting public comfort.
