Jakarta, Dec. 26 -- The Jakarta provincial government will strengthen staple food subsidy programs for workers through the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) Plus, an official said on Friday.

"We will strengthen the basic food subsidy program through KJP Plus and other social assistance schemes, as well as expand social security through BPJS employment and health insurance integrated with worker data," Special Staff to the Jakarta Governor Chico Hakim said.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung earlier stated that the provincial government will also provide transportation incentives, subsidies for services provided by the city-owned drinking water company PAM Jaya, and BPJS coverage for workers.
