Jakarta, May 11 -- The provincial government of Jakarta plans to deploy officers from its Public Security and Order Agency (Satpol PP) to protect residents from thuggery .

Deputy Governor of Jakarta Rano Karno noted that this measure aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's instruction to curb the rise of harmful behavior carried out by civilian groups resembling thugs.

"Mr. President and the police chief have issued an instruction, pushing for action against thuggery ," he remarked in South Jakarta on Sunday.
