Jakarta, Sept. 22 -- Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo announced that the central government's housing development program, which will build 23,000 housing units in Jakarta, is expected to create nearly 100,000 jobs.

The Jakarta Provincial Government will implement several national policies, including initiatives in housing and sanitation.

"The project will require nearly 100,000 workers. This is a strategic effort to absorb labor amid ongoing economic pressure," Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Monday.

The housing project will be carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and will involve local contractors to accelerate development across various parts of Jakarta.
