Beijing, May 23 -- Chairperson of the National Economic Council (DEN), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said the Jakarta-Surabaya high-speed train project will continue, after his meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on Thursday.
According to Pandjaitan, the responsibility for the project's hold-up lies with the Indonesian side, which has not yet completed the presidential regulation regarding the development of the high-speed railway.
Once the regulation is completed, he said, Indonesia and China can start conducting their joint feasibility study on the project.
He also asked Deputy Minister of Finance, Thomas Djiwandono, to directly oversee the formulation of the presidential regulation.
