Jakarta, July 25 -- Jakarta's poverty line stood at Rp852,768 (approximately US$52) per capita per month in March 2025, higher than the national average of Rp609,160, according to Statistics Indonesia (BPS).
"This reflects the standard of living for people in Jakarta. Their spending is relatively high compared to other regions in Indonesia," said Nurul Hasanudin, head of Jakarta's BPS office, on Friday.
The March figure marked a 0.79 percent increase from September 2024, when the capital's poverty line was Rp846,085.
The poverty line refers to the minimum monthly expenditure required to meet both food and non-food needs. Individuals whose average monthly spending falls below this threshold are considered poor.
