Jakarta, July 10 -- The Child Protection Empowerment and Population Control Office of the Jakarta government has reported an increase in cases of violence against children in the province.
Acting head of the Women and Child Protection Integrated Service Unit of Jakarta, Leni Yunengsih, attributed this increase to higher public awareness about reporting such cases and seeking assistance.
"Now, people are more aware of our presence, and they no longer hesitate to report," Yunengsih said in Jakarta on Thursday.
Furthermore, teams of psychologists and advocates are providing support to victims of violence.
