Jakarta, Jan. 20 -- The Jakarta provincial government has raised an alert over potential cases of dengue and "super flu," or influenza A (H3N2) subclade K, amid the rainy season.

"I have instructed the Jakarta Health Office to pay close attention to two things, namely super flu and dengue," Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo told the press in Central Jakarta on Tuesday.

He noted that no super flu cases have been recorded in Jakarta and expressed hope the capital will remain free of the disease.

On dengue, Pramono pointed out that a surge in cases has been confirmed in West Jakarta and North Jakarta. However, he voiced confidence that the Health Office is capable of addressing the trend.
