Jakarta, Dec. 16 -- The Jakarta provincial government has begun distributing emergency assistance to traders affected by a fire at the Kramat Jati Main Market in East Jakarta, providing cash aid and temporary facilities as authorities move to stabilize trading activities.

The city has allocated Rp5 million ($320) in assistance to each of 121 traders impacted by the blaze, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said on Tuesday.

"We are providing aid to 121 traders, Rp5 million per trader, to help them meet their needs over the next five days," Anung told reporters.
