Jakarta, Sept. 9 -- Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra confirmed that all individuals detained by the Greater Jakarta Police over alleged offenses during recent protests have been treated humanely.

"Based on my conversations with the detainees, they said they had been treated well, with their fundamental rights respected," he stated after inspecting the police detention facility in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Mahendra stressed that the state is obliged to guarantee human rights protection for all citizens, including those facing legal consequences, while reaffirming the government's commitment to fair legal proceedings.
