Jakarta, July 2 -- Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq has urged the Jakarta Provincial Government to adopt more serious and systematic measures to reduce waste, citing overcapacity at the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST).
"We are gradually urging the Jakarta governor to carry out meaningful waste reduction efforts," Minister Hanif Faisol, who also heads the Environmental Control Agency (BPLH), stated during a visit to Teluk Gong Market in North Jakarta on Wednesday morning.
He stressed the urgency of waste management in the capital, where daily waste generation reaches around eight thousand tons-a figure that could increase as the population increases.
