Jakarta, Nov. 6 -- The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has prepared anticipatory measures to face potential tidal flooding in the city.
"BPBD Jakarta has activated the standard disaster response protocol for coastal flooding, including readiness for temporary evacuation if water levels exceed 50 centimeters or pose safety risks," Special Staff to the Jakarta Governor for Social Communication Chico Hakim said here on Wednesday.
According to him, the coastal flooding, caused by rising sea levels, is forecast to occur between November 5-10, 2025. However, as of November 5, no mass evacuation has been required since the flooding remains at a potential stage.
