Jakarta, Aug. 15 -- The Jakarta police said traffic remained normal during the Annual Session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) on Friday, with no major disruptions reported.

"Overall, traffic today is normal," Jakarta Metropolitan Police's Traffic Director Commissioner Komarudin told journalists prior to the opening of the annual session.

He admitted that there was an increase in vehicles entering the House of Representatives (DPR) complex due to official invitations, but the traffic flow went smoothly.

There were no significant bottlenecks around the area, and traffic conditions were similar to any regular weekday, he said.
