Jakarta, Nov. 20 -- The Jakarta Provincial Government requires 27 Stroke Ready Hospitals (SRH) to strengthen efforts to address one of the leading non-communicable diseases causing death worldwide, including in the city.

An SRH is a healthcare facility equipped with dedicated protocols, trained medical teams, adequate equipment, and rapid-response systems for stroke patients.

"Currently, Jakarta has only 23 hospitals designated as SRH, most of which are operated by private institutions," Head of the Jakarta Health Office Ani Ruspitawati said during the 61st Jakarta Provincial National Health Day commemoration themed "Smart City, Healthy People" here on Thursday.
