Jakarta, Feb. 6 -- Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has officially issued Governor Regulation No. 5 of 2026 on Energy and Water Efficiency in Buildings to tighten control over resource consumption, specifically groundwater.

"Today, we are officially launching Governor Regulation Number 5 regarding Energy and Water Efficiency in Buildings, which was drafted through a participatory process involving all stakeholders," Pramono said in Central Jakarta on Friday.

Through this regulation, the Jakarta Provincial Government is tightening supervision of buildings that still use groundwater.

"First, we will now strictly monitor whether any buildings are still using groundwater, as its use is already prohibited," he emphasized.
