Jakarta, March 19 -- The Jakarta Environmental Service has designated 100 percent waste management as a priority program and performance target for 2026.

Head of the Jakarta Environmental Service, Asep Kuswanto, stated on Wednesday that the plan involves managing 70 percent of the waste and reducing the remaining 30 percent.

According to Kuswanto, goals can be achieved by strengthening community involvement in waste sorting and adopting eco-friendly methods to handle biodegradable waste.

"This includes boosting the circular economy through waste utilization, reducing plastic waste, and promoting self-sufficient waste management in areas and markets," he remarked.
