Jakarta, July 4 -- Governor of Jakarta Pramono Anung joined a mangrove-planting activity and distributed grouper fish seeds to fishermen during an official visit to Kelapa Island, Seribu Islands District, on Friday morning.
Upon his arrival around 8:40 a.m. local time, the governor was eagerly welcomed by locals. " Assalamualaikum . Good morning, everyone," Pramono told the islanders.
After the welcome, he headed directly to the site designated for the mangrove-planting activity. Alongside residents, the governor planted mangrove saplings as part of an initiative to plant around 15 thousand mangroves across the Seribu Islands.
He then symbolically handed over 24 thousand grouper fish seeds to local fishermen.
