Jakarta, April 19 -- Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung apologized to the community for the severe traffic congestion in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

"This incident has been bothering me. I conveyed my deepest apologies," he stated at the Jakarta City Hall on Saturday.

Taking full responsibility as the city's leader, he apologized to the entire community.

He clarified that the congestion in Tanjung Priok occurred due to the buildup of cargo trucks to pick up and deliver cargo at Tanjung Priok Port, which increased from the previous 2,500 trucks per day to four thousand trucks.
