Jakarta, Oct. 24 -- The Jakarta provincial government is expanding and developing green open spaces (RTH) that combine ecological, social, and educational functions.
On Friday, Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the Kampung Kalibata Park in South Jakarta as part of these efforts.
Ecologically, the park features a retention pond and winding drainage channels designed to collect runoff water during the rainy season.
From an educational and biodiversity perspective, it includes various local fruit trees native to Jakarta and its surroundings to enrich urban biodiversity.
The park also functions as a "natural laboratory" for the community, allowing shared and sustainable use of the fruit trees' produce.
