Jakarta, July 27 -- The Jakarta Provincial Government aims to plant one kilometer of mangrove seeds along the coast within a year to ensure a green environment on the northern coast of the region.
"For mangrove planting, a minimum of 1 km is targeted every year," Secretary for Jakarta's Parks and Urban Forest Office Rudy Syahrul said here on Sunday.
Syahrul stated that on Saturday, to commemorate the 2025 World Mangrove Day and to restore the coastal ecosystem, some 10 thousand mangroves were planted across four locations.
He expected that the target for the year can be achieved.
