Jakarta, July 11 -- The Jakarta provincial government, in partnership with the Shanghai Art Collection Museum, is organizing an exhibition titled "Miles Apart, Close at Heart," showcasing the journeys of Admiral Cheng Ho from China's Ming dynasty.
Cheng Ho, also known as Zheng He, was a Chinese eunuch and diplomat renowned for his voyages across the seas of Asia, including to Indonesia, where he is widely recognized as a Muslim admiral from China.
"We are pleased to have the opportunity to collaborate with the Shanghai Museum. The voyages of Cheng Ho symbolize peace and openness - the very values we intend to spotlight through this exhibition," Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno remarked in West Jakarta on Friday.
