Jakarta, June 22 -- Indonesia's Foreign Ministry confirmed that Indonesians evacuated from Iran due to the ongoing war with Israel will be flown home in phases on Monday.

"The first batch of flights by commercial airlines will depart on Monday, June 23, and arrive in Jakarta on June 24," Director for Protection of Indonesians Judha Nugraha disclosed the evacuation flight plan in his written remarks, on Sunday.

The Foreign Ministry will continue monitoring the 97 individuals evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan before their flights home, he said while assuring their safety in Baku.

Those evacuated comprised 93 Indonesians, 3 Indonesian embassy staff, and 1 Iranian spouse of an Indonesian.
