Jakarta, July 8 -- Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has called for stronger collaboration among government officials, farmers, and other stakeholders to meet the national goal of achieving self-sufficiency in table sugar by 2026 and in all sugar types by 2028.
According to a statement from the Vice Presidential Secretariat, Gibran said the targets were set by President Prabowo Subianto.
"We all share responsibility for meeting these goals. So we ask for your support, ladies and gentlemen," he said during a dialogue with sugarcane farmers in Sleman, Yogyakarta, on Tuesday.
