West Bandung, Jan. 25 -- Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka on Sunday visited a landslide-hit area in West Bandung, West Java, to monitor disaster response efforts and issue directives to ensure residents' safety.

Speaking in Pasirlagu Village, Gibran urged local government leaders and all relevant stakeholders to actively manage the situation on the ground and provide intensive assistance to affected residents.

"I am sorry for the disaster, but rest assured that the government has deployed response teams. Let us pray that they can effectively address this emergency," he told local residents.
