Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, Jan. 30 -- Indonesia's Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka inspected SMPN 1 Karang Baru in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, to ensure that teaching and learning could resume following the floods on November 26, 2025.

Arriving in Aceh Tamiang on Friday, the Vice President observed the condition of the school, which suffered damage to nearly all major facilities, particularly classrooms and offices on the ground floor.

The flooding significantly disrupted school activities. Of the 698 students, 665 were directly impacted. Similar conditions affected the staff, with 67 of the 71 teachers and personnel displaced or affected by the disaster.
