Jakarta, Nov. 16 -- Deputy Minister for Creative Economy Irene Umar expressed hope that Indonesian musical theater talents will reach international stages through the Indonesia Musical Festival (FMI) 2025.

"FMI provides a space that brings together the nation's talented individuals. The talents perform from the heart, and each performance always touches the heart. This is one of the 12 selected musical communities that enliven Indonesia's musical stage," Umar said in a press statement here on Sunday.

Indonesia's creative economy has emerged as a key national growth driver, generating more than Rp1,500 trillion ($94 billion) in GDP and employing 26.47 million people in the year since October 2024.
