Jakarta, June 27 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto welcomed Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Friday afternoon at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta with a formal state reception ceremony.

The two leaders arrived together in the same vehicle and walked side by side to a special podium, where they stood for the playing of the national anthems of both countries, accompanied by a 21-gun salute.

They then proceeded along a blue carpet laid across the palace courtyard to inspect the ceremonial honor guard.
