Jakarta, Dec. 30 -- The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has established 1,147 nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPG) nationwide to serve as kitchens supporting the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, Polri Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo reported.
"Presently, we already have 1,147 SPPGs projected to serve 3,972,500 MBG recipients and absorb 56,750 people from the workforce," he remarked during a year-end police briefing at the Polri Headquarters in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Elaborating further, Prabowo noted that 331 police-run MBG kitchens are already operational, 135 remain in the preparatory stage, 245 are under construction, and 436 have recently begun development, which is expected to be completed by February next year.
