Tangerang, Banten, Dec. 14 -- Indonesia's National Police and the World Wide Fund for Nature sent dozens of tonnes of relief supplies to Aceh on Saturday, expanding a joint airlift to help communities hit by floods and landslides.

The aid, mostly food and basic necessities, was dispatched from Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta airport in cooperation with WWF Indonesia and the Forestry Ministry, police officials said.

Police said Rimbun Air flights carried the cargo to Iskandar Muda airport in Banda Aceh, with the airport police unit acting as an information hub for public updates.
