Jakarta, Sept. 1 -- The Indonesian National Police (Polri) reaffirmed their commitment to taking firm action against anarchic acts, in accordance with existing legal procedures and with full respect for human rights.

"We guarantee that our actions will be professional, measured, and in line with applicable laws, while upholding human rights," said Deputy Chief of the National Police, Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, in Jakarta on Monday.

Dedi explained that the deployment of Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and police personnel in the field reflects both institutions' firm stance on maintaining peace and security nationwide.
