Jakarta, Feb. 4 -- Indonesian Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali stated that his side had removed 20 kilometers of sea fence in the northern coastal waters of Tangerang, Banten, out of a total length of 30.16 kilometers.

His side is focusing on removing the sea fence in areas designated for fishermen's access.

"The priority is fishermen's access to go fishing without incurring extra fuel costs," Ali stated in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He noted that the removal operations were halted a few days ago due to adverse weather conditions but will resume once the weather improves today.

"Bad weather is dangerous for the operators, whether our personnel or fishermen," he explained.
