Jakarta, Nov. 9 -- Social Affairs Minister Syaifullah Yusuf has urged all parties to take an active role in preventing bullying in schools, warning that its effects can have long-term consequences for victims.
"This is not only related to the SMAN 72 school explosion case, but generally, we must prevent bullying in schools," he said at the Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital after visiting the student victims treated there on Sunday.
He highlighted three critical issues that require collective attention: acts of bullying, regardless of the perpetrator or victim; physical and sexual violence in schools; and intolerance.
