Jakarta, March 20 -- Indonesia's Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, has praised the selection of the film Pangku as one of five projects chosen for the 23rd Hong Kong Asia Film (HAF) Goes to Cannes Program.

This selection paves the way for the film to be screened at the world's most renowned film festival.

"The selection of Pangku for the HAF Goes to Cannes program highlights the quality and creativity of Indonesian filmmakers, who are capable of competing on the international stage," Zon said in a statement issued on Thursday.

HAF is part of the Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) Industry Project Market, recognized as Asia's leading film financing platform.
