Jakarta, Nov. 18 -- The Immigration and Corrections Ministry has arrested a fugitive from China, a 58-year-old former CEO of a real estate company, suspected of involvement in a corporate loan case worth 980 million yuan (US$137.8 million).

Director of Immigration Intelligence, Police Commissioner Agus Waluyo, explained at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday that the suspect failed to repay his corporate loan, fled the country, and was later arrested following a request from the Chinese government.

"The arrest was conducted based on a diplomatic note from the Chinese Embassy in Jakarta. The suspect was arrested in the Nagoya area in Batam on Thursday, November 13, 2025," Waluyo said.
