Jakarta, May 26 -- The Indonesian government has not yet discussed a proposal to raise the retirement age for state civil servants (ASN) to 70, according to Hasan Nasbi, Head of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

"Until now, there has been no discussion," Nasbi told reporters on Monday.

He said the proposal-submitted by the Indonesian Civil Servant Corps (Korpri)-remains a topic of discourse and has not progressed to formal deliberation.

Nasbi emphasized that it is legitimate for such proposals to be raised and considered but stressed that the government must weigh various factors, including succession and regeneration within the ASN workforce.
