Jakarta, July 11 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs aims to submit its draft regulation on artificial intelligence (AI) for legislative review by early August 2025.
R. Wijaya Kusumawardhana, an expert staff member at the ministry, said on Friday that the draft is expected to enter the legislative process in July or August.
"It has already been discussed across ministries," he said, adding that the ministry is currently holding inter-ministerial and inter-agency discussions to finalize the draft.
Once a consensus is reached, the draft will be submitted to the Ministry of Law to begin the legislative process.
